In addition to customer-facing improvements, crews also deep cleaned and renovated employee crew rooms. NYC Transit crews made a variety of upgrades to renovate the stations, from concrete repairs and water mitigation efforts to replacing tiles along the station walls and deep cleaning the entire station from the staircase to the track. The renovations took place during outages planned for other reasons during weekends in order to minimize impacts to customers, also providing a visible fresh and clean look when customers returned.

With the completion of Court Square Station on the 7 line in Queens and 8 Avenue station on the L in Manhattan, NYC Transit has now completed 11 of 12 stations that were scheduled to receive renovation work in the first quarter of 2023. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has renovated 20 stations under New York City Transit’s (NYC Transit) Station Re-NEW-vation Program.
